PayPal

PayPal is a payment system for members. Merchants and customers can become members for free by signing up with PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/uk/). They give PayPal their credit/debit card details as well as their bank account details. This allows PayPal to charge customers and pay merchants without sharing those details between the two parties. As such it has become popular with auction sites such as eBay.

It is a simple process to sign up with PayPal and allows you to start trading immediately.

The downside of using PayPal as a payment method is that non-members cannot pay you. PayPal is best used as an alternative option to a standard credit-card PSP such as WorldPay.
